U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifier to Run in Mankato Marathon

The Mankato Marathon is proud to welcome avid runner Laura Paulsen to the Mankato Marathon October 16.

Laura says she is “looking forward to trying to run a new half marathon [personal record] at the Mankato Half Marathon and having a fun time at the race.”

Laura ran her first marathon in December 2014; her personal record at 2:39:54, which qualified her for the U.S. Olympic Trials. Her second marathon was the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in February 2016 in Los Angeles. Her current PR was set in June at the Grandma’s Half Marathon in Duluth, where she ran 1:16:37.

Mankato Marathon gets better each year

MANKATO — The Mankato Marathon has come a long way in just three years. In the inaugural event in 2010, about 2,000 runners participated. This year more than 4,500 runners participated and the number of races has grown — with even toddlers getting in on the fun in the Diaper Dash. With more runners and events come more visitors and fans, bringing a boost to the local economy.
