This half marathon is known for the support athletes get on the course, including cheer teams, the Sports Psych Team, spectators and water stops. You and your friends will enjoy the run! The course is spectacular - starting at the MSU parking lots, you’ll head south on Monks Street until for about 3 miles (with your own police escort to ensure the roads are clear). At the intersection of Monks and Hwy 90, Half Marathoners take a right while the Marathoners take a left. After taking a right onto Hwy 90, you will go about 2 miles and then it is mostly a downhill run from here.
The breathtaking view at mile 5 gives you a preview of the next mile of the course. Your next 5 miles will be on some of the most beautiful paved trails Mankato has to offer. At mile 9.5 you will come out onto Riverfront Drive and back into the city. From here you will go through Riverfront Park which is landmark of Mankato along the Minnesota River. Once through the park you come back onto Riverfront Drive and then onto Front Street where the finish line awaits you. Each finisher will receive a medal and partake in one of the best post-race areas MN has to offer, complete with food, music, messages, vendors, personal photos, and kids activities for the young and the young at heart.
