Mankato Marathon 2015 Charity Program

In 2013 the Mankato Marathon started the Charities Program and raised over $17,000 for local charities and over $20,000 in 2014. In 2015 in an effort to build this program to involve more charities and more runners, we have added a fifth charity. This year’s charities include the YWCA Girls on the Run, Project for Teens, Camp Sweet Life Adventures, YMCA Livestrong & Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota.

Here is how it works:

  • Each qualifying charity would be allowed up to four charity runners for the full or half marathon.
  • Each charity runner chosen would be required to fund raise a minimum of $500.
  • Charities will also raise money via registration.

Training from Start to Finish Line

It’s well known that training for a marathon involves more than just a pair of good running shoes and determination. A successful training program takes into account the entire runner – mind, body and soul. As an added benefit to our runners, the Mankato Marathon has worked with experts in each of these areas to create a well rounded training section. Go>
