Mankato Marathon 2015 Charity Program

In 2013 the Mankato Marathon started the Charities Program and raised over $17,000 for local charities and over $20,000 in 2014. In 2014 in an effort to build this program to involve more charities and more runners, we have added a fifth charity. Any 501(c)(3) charity can apply to receive up to four guaranteed entries into the Mankato Marathon Half Marathon and/or Full Marathon.

Here is how it works:

  • Each qualifying charity would be allowed to get up to four guaranteed entries into the full or half marathon
  • Each entry the charity receives would require them to have a champion runner to run in the event
  • Each charity runner chosen would be required to fund raise a minimum of $500

Applications are due December 10.

Nearly 1,000 volunteers are needed for the 2014 Mankato Marathon to make the weekend run smoothly for our runners. There are many ways to volunteer including course marshal, bicycle medical support and race bag stuffing.

Training from Start to Finish Line

It’s well known that training for a marathon involves more than just a pair of good running shoes and determination. A successful training program takes into account the entire runner – mind, body and soul. As an added benefit to our runners, the Mankato Marathon has worked with experts in each of these areas to create a well rounded training section. Go>
