No one has to stay home! From the Diaper Dash to the full marathon, the Mankato Marathon has a race for everyone. In the Expo, children can run wild in the Kidz Zone featuring a rock wall, four bowling lanes, bounce houses and more. Sports organizations and service providers will also be there offering various services to participating runners.

If the Expo activities aren't enough, there are several races for children as young as 24 months up to 12 years old. Both the Toddler Trot and Diaper Dash are free of charge and all finishers receive a sticker! Every participant in the KidsK receive an official KidsK medal as well as a t-shirt. All races are very safe courses in the Minnesota State University, Mankato parking lot, with security controlling all traffic.

For more advanced runners, the Mankato Marathon is a great addition to your fall competition schedule. You won't want to miss the opportunity to race recognized by TripAdvisor as the best marathon to travel for in Minnesota. From the beautiful course through MSU, Mankato's campus and historic downtown, to the amazing staff, volunteers and organizations, this marathon is a hit in the Minnesota running community.

Mankato's My Bold Walk is the only race in the nation specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, chronic illnesses or physical inactivity who love to be involved in a supported event. Along the 0.6-mile loop course are rest stations, as well as volunteer support from the community to help anyone on their walk.

For novice and advanced runners alike, the Mankato Marathon is considered the Midwest's Boldest Race. The half marathon was nominated for The BibRave 100 list, which covers all races across the nation. The marathon is known for its unique experience and atmosphere, as well as fantastic motivation from Cheer Teams and a pace team. Enjoy food, music, massages and more after running in the Post Race area to celebrate finishing the Midwest's Boldest Race!

The 2017 Speaker Series features Heather Kampf, the most decorated women's track and field athlete in the University of Minnesota's history. A Minnesota native, Kampf became the only Golden Gopher to compete in every NCAA championship in cross country, indoor and outdoor track while competing for the university. She is still an avid runner and speaks across the country about her athletic success. She will have a presentation for the youth audience during the Expo, as well as a session later to an adult audience about her full story. Her message focuses around the idea of "getting back up after you fall down" and something you definitely don't want to miss.

Marathon Pork Power tile7. Bacon lovers unite!
The Pork Power 5K is for any level runner who loves bacon and supporting Minnesota's pork industry. The fun family run includes a bacon stop along the way, as well as pig-themed gear and medals for all finishers. At the end of the race, enjoy even more pork treats as well as pig-themed prizes.

 

Marathon Transportation tile8. Transportation is easy
There is no need to worry about the hectic traffic and road closures on Marathon day. Bus transportation for all runners begins Sunday morning of the Marathon at 6 a.m. and the last bus leaves at 7:05 a.m. In addition to bus transportation, there is also a bag drop area for runners to check in their belongings to be transported to the finish line.

Even the day before the adult races isn't too late to sign up! Registration for all events runs through the Expo on Saturday until 6 p.m. or until all race spots are full. The Expo runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. the day before the Marathon, so even on a whim, you can still be a part of the Midwest's Boldest Race.

When you register for any Mankato Marathon race, you have the opportunity to give back to the community. You have the potential to donate to five charities include Camp Sweet Life Adventures, YMCA LiveSTRONG, the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota, Open Door Health Center, and Project for Teens. Registrants can elect to donate to any or all the charities the Mankato Marathon has chosen for 2017.
